well, first i want to thank everyone who is working so hard on the campaign...and especially my electors! it looks like we have qualified in about 25 states...which is absolutely amazing! we will soon have a map or a list of those states up. if we ran again, knowing what we know now, we would easily have 10 more states. we came close in oh., n.c., and mi. the post office in indiana lost our forms! only d.c. is now up in the air!

Are you still having a victory party at VOX Gallery in Sacramento? What’s your connection to Sacramento, and do you have a base of supporters there?

Are there any issues specific to Sacramento you would address as President?

I get the idea of horror movie poster when I look at your campaign images. Was that the intent, and if so, what’s the message?

How much time do you spend campaigning?

How is it personally rewarding to be a candidate?

that poem is called mutation is evolution. it is about how society needs us misfits...be it artists, "crips" [the "disabled"], visionaries, whatever...if society is to survive and to evolve into a more humane world.

We “disabled” are really the adapters society needs because we operate outside the boxes of “normalcy”, coming up with solutions from left field. I’m the candidate for everyone who doesn’t fit into “normalcy” – which is almost everyone. My having cerebral palsy does not seem to matter to most people. In fact they seem to see it as an asset.I’m a member of a suppressed group. But I’ve successfully fought discrimination all my life and had fun doing it! Most people get that and feel hope. Then they read my platform – and they’re hooked!

I’m not a part of the political system that has been corrupted by big bucks. I’m not playing by the unwritten rules, etc. It is one of the reasons why everyday people are excited about my running. The big bucks political system has been divorced from the everyday reality, hijacked by the addicts of obscenely huge profits. I am a real, serious candidate. I’m just working outside of their boxes. Outside of boxes is where the new possibilities are. Inside the limiting boxes is where political power is created. This is why the normal politicians stay in the boxes. This is why fundamental, humane change rarely—if ever—has come from power politics.

My platform is the star of this campaign! This campaign started with a t-shirt of The Three Stooges. Michael [“Mikee”] LaBash, who is one of five people I live with in a tribal relationship and who is our graphic/web designer, had a CURLY FOR PRESIDENT t-shirt. For Christmas two years ago Mikee made me a FRANK MOORE FOR PRESIDENT shirt. When I wore it, people started asking me what my platform was. So I wrote a platform up. Everybody who read it got excited, overflowed with hope, saying it expressed what they felt and wanted. Their reactions placed on me a responsibility to mount a serious campaign, to commit and surrender to it…and to hang on no matter where this ride would go. I never know where a performance or a project will evolve to. I have never run for political office before…except in college. But I have always been involved in politics in a bigger context…that of social change.

When I was born, doctors told my parents that I had no intelligence, that I had no future, that I would be best put into an institution and be forgotten. So the struggle for freedom, and against the powers-that-be has been my life. And it has been a continuous struggle, struggling with schools to let me in, etc. I have always been a radical. But that became obvious when I was 17 and invented my head pointer with which I type and communicate. The first thing I wrote was how I believed in a one world socialist government. I started writing political columns for the high school paper…as well as putting out an underground paper. I was in the first special class placed on a regular high school campus so that the disabled students could be in regular classes and be a part of campus life. I was involved in the civil rights and anti-war movements. This was 1965…before it was popular to be against the Vietnam War. In the school paper I got into a debate with a GI in Vietnam. I was sat down and told that, because of my political philosophy and activities, I was hurting the chances of the disabled students who would come after me. I replied that the goal was to get the rights for the disabled [and for all people] to be complete and equal…and that included the right to be political. I would not surrender that, or any other, right.

In the early 90s I and five other performance artists were targeted by Sen. Jesse Helms in what is commonly seen as the first battle of the cultural wars. This placed me in a great position to fight for our freedoms!

And I always have projects that confront political suppression in very sneaky ways. For an example, in recent years I shepparded a project to test foods for GMO’s and to certify products as GMO or GMO-free. We had an independent testing lab and over 300 natural food stores in both the U. S. and Canada that would use the results in deciding what they would sell. We developed this project from our local consumer protest. In the end, the project threatened the corporate “natural”/”organic” food industry [the likes of Whole Foods] so much that they staged a hostile take-over to kill it. This is the kind of under-the-surface politics I’m into!

Historically the goal of independent and third-party candidates is not to “win.” Realistically the process is rigged to prevent us from “winning.” The function of such a candidate as I is to introduce ideas, to induce change, to raise the bar. Within this context, my campaign is extremely effective. But on the other hand, I JUST MAY WIN THIS SUCKER!

Realistically it is impossible for any of us independent/third-party candidates to win…and for that matter candidates such as Edwards whom the mainstream media labels hopeless. It is not really about a lack of money.

First of all a large number of states either out-right ban write-in candidates or make it virtually impossible to qualify to be a write-in candidate. These states throw out the entire ballot with a write-in on it. This disenfranchises the voters in those states from the full choices. It freezes in place not only the 2-party system…which is a product of evolution, not of the Constitution…but the two parties that happen to be the major parties at the present moment. This has to change before we will have a chance of winning. One effect of my campaign has been forcing several states to clean up their write-in processes.

My platform is very similar to Nader's platform...breaking the control of the big corporations over almost every aspect of our society for example. Nader wasn't running when I started two years ago. I have taken his policies to the next level. And as for The Greens...I'm much sexier!

It looks like I and my running mate Susan Block will qualify in more than 25 states as a write-in ticket...which is a victory in itself! So we will celebrate!

I'm closely linked to the vibrant art and music scene which exists in Sacramento. I have performed there a lot...at THE NOISE FEST and THE HORSECOW ART COLLECTIVE among other places. Many of the musicians in my band live in Sacramento. But to be honest, I'm not well-versed in the issues of Sacramento. Educate me!

Hey, about my campaign logo...that is what I look like! I ain't your standard politician! I'm ready to get results, to deliver! There are many...those who have not delivered the end of poverty and hunger...who should be scared when they see my mug! But most people see the hope, the possibilities, their dreams...finally! Technological issues have proven to be major points in this year's elections, and with good reason. Technology has become a major part of everyday American life, international finance, and even a front line in the war on terrorism.

You have made no public comments on the issue of Unicode normalization and the need for a single benchmark standard, even though it is important for the multi-national, intercultural web of communication that has been built, and continues to be built, over the Internet. I realize you do not have the time to personally answer every single inquiry that voters ask you about, but I would be perfectly happy to hear from your staff what you or your official campaign advisors think about this major issue.

Unicode Normalization Form "D" specifies that only glyphs that are noted as equivalent in the official Unicode specification (currently version 5.1 and subject to further revision) are to be considered identical. For example, under Form "D", U+1FBB "Greek capital letter Alpha with oxia" is considered identical to U+0386 "Greek capital letter Alpha with tonos", whereas under Form "C" that same U+1FBB is treated as if it were decomposed to two combined characters, U+0391 "Greek capital letter Alpha" followed immediately by U+0301 "Combining acute accent".

Form "KD" will treat "Greek capital letter Alpha with oxia" just like form "D", but it will also treat U+03D4 "Greek Upsilon with diaeresis and hook symbol" as U+03AB "Greek capital letter Upsilon with dialytika", something which Form "D" does not. Form "KC", on the other hand, treats U+1FBB exactly the same as Form "C", but also treats "Greek Upsilon with diaeresis and hook symbol" as U+03A5 "Greek capital letter Upsilon" followed immediately by U+0308 "Combining diaeresis," which Form "C" does not. This is important, since even though both "Greek capital letter Upsilon with dialytika" and the duo of "Greek capital letter Upsilon" and "Combining diaeresis" derive from the same original glyph, no Normalization Form will recognize them as equivalent to each other.

Though it seems insignificant, the consequences of not choosing a standard, or choosing one poorly, are in fact far-reaching, as many government institutions, departments, and agencies, including the Defense Department, the State Department, the Library of Congress, the Federal Trade Commission, Citizenship and Immigration Services, and many others. If, for example, programs for heuristic scanning used by the C.I.A. cannot identify certain variant glyphs as being identical, advance warnings of future terrorist threats could be missed.

Stephanie Levine Lucero, a friend of mine from Redlands, who say you a couple of days ago told me that she met you in Berkeley. She told me you were running for president, so I looked up your platform on the web.

I am not a believer in the flat tax. How do you determine what income to put that flat tax on? Small business, sole proprietors etc, have different gross profits. Some may have a 100% gross profit while others may only have 10% of their sales being income. A restaurant has a much lower gross profit than a professional. You will have everyone forming corporations so that they can take the same deductions that they took as sole proprietors to get to a lower bottom line.

I also believe in graduated income tax. Let those who make more pay more. All your cut off of $1 million will do is cause people who are really rich to have underground economies or to form more corporations and funnel their income of 10 million into 11 corps and then pay only 10%.

People are great at finding ways to avoid paying that massive tax. If you have a graduated rate, and with computers you could have a mill increase for each $100 of income, you reduce the incentive to hide money or to be creative in the way you split it up.

Hope to hear for you. I love hearing about you. Your Wikipedia doesn't mention Redlands High. What an omission!

the tax plank turns out to be the most controversial thing in my platform. the tax would either be on profit or actual income. i would limit how many corporation boards one can be on. but i'm not wed to the tax structure i outlined. a graduated rate of 1% on the first $10,000 [after the $12,000 guaranteed minimum income], 2% on $20,000, etc. would also work...with no deductions.

How are you doing ?

Here, a new job, back to school and of course, as allways, music in my free time ( well, for the time I have left ).

Nevertheless, you'll be glad to know that the instrumentals is done for our track on your campain speeches and ideas.

I've tried on the "on Irak'' speech your friend and translater had recording for you ( she has a hell of a beautifull voice, you should tell her :)

I'll try to have this done by two to three weeks, as I master all individual instrument tracks this weekend and might mix and master the final thing sometime next week and beyond.

In conclusion, the music is passionated, will blend well with the speeches. Also, I've decided to make a pot-pourri with all the themes ( track is about 4 minutes if I'm not mistaking ).

Remember, my goal is to touch people's imaginary, to raise my subjects to the level of legends and myth.

we're doing our final push to reach 500 names, wish us luck! There are about 20 of us passing petitions right now; when I went to an art exhibit this evening I was delighted to see a petition at the door - I don't have an accurate count right now since it's a co-ordinated effort, but I feel hopeful. Do you have anyone else working in NC, or are all 500 names up to us? Just checking.

Tomorrow I'm dropping off petitions to the local record stores and comic book stores, I spoke to the owners (friends) this afternoon, and they'll be pushing patrons to sign all week. There are other things going on like that as well, but I won't bore you with the details - on the 4th I'll be hand delivering all of the petitions to the County Board Of Elections (all of our signees are residents of New Hanover County, no sorting necessary).

"Actually, delivering the petitions to the New Hanover County Board of Elections is only step one of two! The deadline is for the final step. New Hanover needs to check the signatures, and then Kenyata needs to deliver the signatures to the State Board of Elections by NOON, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 6TH. I talked to the State Board of Elections today and they said the Counties generally can turn those around in a day or so. The State Board of Elections is in Raleigh, NC. We will have to include a simple form signed by Frank to accompany the final delivery."

we are mailing my form to you this morning by express mail. sorry about this! they don't make it easy! and the kicker is the mainstream candidates don't have to do any of this!

well, son...that is what my platform includes. it also should be
