HOW BERKELEY CAN YOU BE?! PARADE

Last year HOW BERKELEY CAN YOU BE?! PARADE really marked the beginning of our taking our presidential campaign into the public. The year since then has been filled with campaign speeches, festivals, performances, interviews and other events. Last year I shook hundreds of hands and gave out over a thousand copies of my platform during the parade and at the festival afterwards. But last year there was a laid-back feeling. This year there were hours of extremely intense intimate inter-reactions/exchanges of hope and vision. It was non-stop…much more than at the other festivals. Many people knew about the campaign. A lot of people…all kinds of people….knew me/us from our public access cable shows [we are on tv in Berkeley and the surrounding towns every night for around 6 hours!]. It was extremely inspiring, if exhausting!

great photos (see them here)! we also have made a music video with them, using the amazing sound collage by rafael-alexandre Ramos in canada.

DA BOYZ:

We were among the several first booths to arrive, but it wasn’t long before there was lots of activity in the park. We unloaded the truck, and got to setting up everything … the last hurrah of the presidential season! The last festival of the year! We remembered that last year when we set up for How Berkeley Can You Be was the first time we did a festival set-up. It was fun setting up, as always, and a hustling race against time … it always took the limit. Earlene arrived a little early, admiring the booth as we put the finishing touches on everything. It was so great that she would hold down the fort while we were in the parade. She picked her shirt and put it on, and we went over the for sale stuff with her, and then soon we were heading down to California St. to meet you guys in the parade line-up!

There we were, closer to the front of the parade than last year, between the scantily clad dancing girls and the gay cheerleaders! Frank was getting set up, Mikee was putting the boombox on the top of the luvermobile to play the Frank Moore for President rock’n’roll jam and chant! We met Kit! We were all getting our bags set up with platforms and handouts, and doing some last minute stuffing so as to combine the two together to hand to folks … And then we were going!

A whirlwind! So much fun!! So many people, and it all went so fast! Handing out Frank’s platforms and the “write-in” handout like crazy, people knowing Frank, looking forward to seeing him pass by, calling out his name, calling out that they see his shows on BTV! Calling out, “Go, Frank!” Hands reaching out for platforms … And then there was Frank, pressing the flesh! Stopping to touch and talk with people along the parade route, and then hustling on as the parade was moving so fast! It was just incredible, we couldn’t give out the platforms and fliers fast enough, and when it was all over, Frank and Linda were saying that it would have been no problem to go much slower, there were so many people who wanted to say something to Frank, to get the platform, to shake his hand… It was absolutely amazing! And it was all types who called out something about watching Frank on TV! Black, white, brown, male, female …. really amazing … We were just blown away at the experience …. And then we were rolling into the parade finish, seeing some of the other great “floats” pull in behind … cupcakes on wheels, giant mobile pink rabbit slippers … just a taste of the amazing art cars that would come later …

It really was only a brief respite, taking the FM4Prez vinyls off of the cars and getting unpacked, and heading over to our booth on the other side of the park, before the intensity of the parade continued at the booth. But first, there was Earlene in her Uncle Frankie tank, taking care of everything at the booth, enjoying herself, happy to see all of us, and really impressed with the whole Frank Moore for President get-up! Frank and Earlene took a great picture together, and soon she was on her way … Corey set up the video camera, and the action began again … Since the booth was placed right on the corner of a main entrance and exit part for people coming into the park, and since the booths were more tightly packed than the year before, people were right up on the booth all day!

We can only really begin to catalog the amazing interactions that happened at the booth … First, there were tons more platforms and fliers handed out to people coming by, and often we would watch as folks walked away reading the platform, seeing that this here was a serious candidate! The booth really drew people in … it was beautiful, and of course the Frank Moore for President graphic was reality shifting!

There was the self-proclaimed “right wing conservative” who came by while Frank, Linda, Mikee, Erika & Jen were out checking out the other booths, reading the platform and saying that he likes a lot of it, and that maybe he should start “Conservatives for Frank Moore”! And then coming back later to say hi, and when Frank asked him what he liked in the platform, he went through it in some detail! He liked cutting the military by at least half, he liked Frank’s ideas about registering as a “family” and how he approached the “marriage” issue. He said this would work for both sides, and that it was very smart. He liked Frank’s stance on patents and copyrights … can’t remember all that he said! Then there was the amazing deep silent responses … the woman who stood there listening to Linda reading Frank’s platform on the portable DVD player, totally absorbed … every once in a while flickering her eyes up at Frank, as if to say, “You devil, you!” And then back to listening intently … all the way to the end! Then a big thumbs up before she walked away …. It was like this, over and over again for the 4+ hours we were there at the booth. 2 hours of video! There was the really neat short interview of Frank by a guy who does a radio program, who said that he really liked Frank’s plan for a guaranteed minimum income of $1,000/ month, based on the cost of living … it made a lot of sense to him, and he could imagine how it would work practically for people … The way that people took in Frank’s ideas and could easily apply them to their lives and to a sense of how the country could be seemed to breathe more and more reality and possibility into the ideas, fleshed them out in ways that made it sound like we were hearing Frank’s platform in new ways, seeing more and more of the implications of a government run this way … it just made sense!

Tomek was there with his accordion in the beginning, Jen made a run to take Kit back … we made a run for Blondie’s pizza and green tea for Linda … a fun fun fun day!! And we were among the last of the booths … people were still coming by wanting to talk to Frank and get his platform as we were packing up a good half hour after the festival officially ended!

We all packed up, and then you guys were off to the other two cars, and we broke down the canopy, loaded up the truck, and soon were heading home … it was always unbelievable to look at the little patch of grass where all of this took place … even the Obama-Biden table, two booths down from us, cheered Frank as you guys rolled by! A very fun, inspiring, amazing day!

Back here at the ranch, we came in and adored the kitten, who purred away … We gave her some food, and she took a nibble, but mainly she wanted to sit by the door as we brought stuff in from the truck, and make sure we knew that she might want to get outside! Jen was soon here too. After we had unloaded everything, we laid back in the living room for a few, gave Cookie a lap, and talked about the day, while you guys got ready for the walk down to T-Rex!

Soon we were all walking down to T-Rex, talking more about the day … and ready to eat! And soon we were there, getting situated, and salivating over the menu … yum! Dinner was yummy and fun …. the waitress was impressed at our ability to eat! And then you had us give her a platform at the end of the night, and she was going to go read it while she ate her salad! While we were heading out, she told Corey that she had read it and showed it around to a bunch of people there. She loved it! She ended up taking 3 more copies to hand around there.

The host read the platform too, even though he prefaced it by saying that he had to vote for Obama … but said, “Sounds good!”

ERIKA:

Parade Day!!! Jen and I decorated the cars and Mikee went to get coffee for us. Then it was time to go pick Kit up. Jen and I went and got him and we arrived in the line for the parade!! I gave Kit half of my baked good and some of my coffee and he put on his Frank Moore for President T-shirt. Then we went over all the driving stuff for the parade. We watched the dancers behind us and then Kit went to have a smoke and he had a book with him that he was reading. Soon our second car arrived and Corey and Alexi came and we were all ready to go. Jen would drive the front car and Kit the back car and the rest of us would walk and hand out platforms. There were so many people and so many people seemed to know Frank, who we were, our TV shows and about the campaign, wow!!! They did move the parade along faster this year so we had to rush a little to hand everything out. Amazing!!!! Then we were off to our booth where Earlene had been sitting and she was so happy to have been at the booth. We went to the bathroom and then got settled into our decorated booth and all afternoon there was a steady stream of people coming up to the booth. There were a lot more booths and a lot more people at the festival this year. It was amazing all the people that came up really excited about Frank’s platform. One woman said that she believed in everything on it and thanked Frank so much for it. A guy who does a radio program on the east coast did an interview with Frank and we connected with a guy who is running for City Council for the Shaman’s Den. It was constant!!! People coming up and asking Frank why he is running,” To Get the ideas out there!” Many people don’t even think that there is another possibility…think that they can only vote for Obama or McCain. Lots of people wanted to know about the write-in process. Wow!!! What a day and we got some donations. People took bumper stickers and pins all day long, and so many people seemed to know already that Frank was running for president!!!! We looked around at all the other booths before we headed home for a quick stop off to feed the cats etc… and then we all walked to T-Rex and what a delicious meal it was, with yummy salads, chicken and ribs, veggies, fries on and on and then dessert. We walked home full and sleepy!. We did a little house cleaning and the end of the night stuff and then headed to sleep!!

let me get this straight…we are bailing out this company to the tune of $700 billion because the company is “too big to allow it to fail because if it failed, the whole global economy will crumble!” if this is true, if the global economy is that fragile, we are in deep shit. a bail out will not get us out of this deep shit. i would down size this and other companies to more sane sizes…i would break them up. i would make the selling of debt illegal. i would set an interest rate ceiling of 5% on all loans. i would bring back pre-reagan regulations on banks, etc. if i were going to bail out that company, that company would have to provide full and free medical coverage to every american for 25 years!

Dear Friend,

Congress is on the brink of making a one-sided deal to give George W. Bush
a blank check to bail out his pals – offering nearly (or perhaps more
than) a trillion taxpayer dollars to Wall Street to cover its bad debts.
That works out to somewhere between $2000 and $5000 from every American
family. So what do the taxpayers get in return?

Nothing. No new regulation or oversight to help avoid this kind of crisis
in the future. No public interest givebacks to help people whose homes are
in the hands of the banks. Perhaps most shockingly of all, the taxpayers
get absolutely no share in the profits if and when these finance giants
bounce back, even though we are now assuming a great deal of the risk.

This is worse than a bad deal – this isn’t a deal at all. This is a blank
check to some of the richest companies in the world.

I just signed a petition calling on key members of Congress to impose a
few sensible conditions to this bailout in order to protect the American
people — I hope you will too.

Please have a look and take action.

Thanks!

I’ve been in title for about 12 years. I love it! Love the challenge of a piece of property with messed up or complex chain of title!

on the campaign trail

Today Linda, Erika. Mikee, and I dropped into the Hopkins St. Bakery….as we oft do…to get treats to have with our coffee across the street. The new owner and her employees always ask about how the campaign is going. Today we told her about the last two events…especially how combining the political with the music and erotic performance went directly into people. SHE said when people experience me, it makes the vision real. Then she about cried. She said she knows if I were president, her life and business would be a whole lot easier! She bought the bakery a few months back and it has been hard because people are cutting back and cookies, cakes, sweet buns, etc. could be seen as luxury items. She said, ā€œbut you would take care of us people!ā€ I will!

DA BOYZ:
Lori, a regular at BNG, was asking Corey what was the latest, and he told her about going up to Davis, the Farmer’s Kitchen Cafe, performing … She had actually seen us driving over to Hopkins on that Tuesday morning that we went to Sacramento, and wondered what I was doing driving around on a work day?? Checking up on Corey! Corey told her about the Sacramento trip, and she was very impressed, and even more impressed that Frank has qualified in 25 states, and might possibly add on a few more!

At BNG, Corey ran into David, the neighbor and elector for Frank who Corey runs into every few days, and is always updating on the campaign. They ended up walking back to Curtis St. from the store together, and he was asking how the Erotic Campaign went? Corey told him how amazing it was, and the elements that Frank weaved together. He liked hearing about it … he asked Corey if we knew Frank before moving into the neighborhood …? Yes, for years before, and it was the reason why we moved … He said that when he saw the purple house, he said to himself, “I’m going to like these people!”

A regular customer, a woman Corey had known almost since he started at BNG, was in the store… she teaches Barmitzvah, does some kind of jewish singing … not too long ago, Corey had given her Frank’s platform to check out, and now he asked her if she had read it? Yes she had, she said with a smile. It was funny! Funny in a good way, she said. “If only …”, she said. When Corey said, yeah!, and that we really could have all of that, she said that it was a great lesson for anyone … to go for everything you want right off the bat, not for what you could settle for … but for everything you really want. That was a lesson for all people.

from my vice-president, dr. susan block

Sarah Palin isn’t the only woman running for Vice President in this season’s U.S. Presidential sweepstakes. There is another candidate for the office on Number One Observatory Circle who also happens to have a vagina, and that candidate happens to be me. Governor Palin and I have more in common than two X chromosomes: We both favor lipstick politics, love our supportive manly husbands, enjoy handling phallic objects – in her case a rifle, and in mine, a vibrator – and neither of us has had much of any government experience on the national stage at all.

[Sarah Palin photoshopped bikini photo]

Then there are our outfits: I’m in lingerie all the way, and the Governor’s in a bikini. Yes, that bikini shot was a fake – just Sarah Palin’s head jauntily photoshopped onto the bikini model’s rifle-wielding body – but the zeitgeist is that it authentically conveys the Spirit of Sarah (Lord have mercy). That is, even in her sensible business suits, desert camo, cuddly parkas or hunting gear, and always in those sultry stern ā€œTina Feyā€ specs, Sarah Palin exudes sex.

[Palin Protection Condoms photo]

Which brings up a big difference between the Governor and me: Sarah might exude sex, but she’s against sex education. I’m a sex educator. I believe that education is power, and sex education is sexual power, the power to attract and cultivate healthy, exciting, relatively safe, mutual beneficial relationships, the power to give and receive pleasure, the power to love and be loved. Why do we all need a good sex education? Because repression relies on ignorance. We need education in the sexual sciences to wipe out damaging, sometimes deadly superstitions and misinformation. We need education in the sexual arts to help improve our erotic lives and to keep our families together. We need education in sexual psychology and philosophy to help us determine our sexual nature and cultivate it in a fulfilling, ethical, manner.

Sarah Palin believes that ā€œfaith-based…abstinence onlyā€ is the only kind of sex education anybody should get, and we’ve all seen how well that works with her own daughter. Saying no to sex education is just one cornerstone of Sarah Palin’s anti-sex/anti-nature platform; on abortion, same-sex marriage, evolution and stem cell research, she is somewhere to the right of the Pope, Dr. Laura and the Reverend Sun Myung Moon.

Another big difference between Sarah and me involves our fellow earthly creatures: I want to save the bonobos. She wants to gas the polar bears. I’m no vegetarian, but the Governor seems to glory (hallelujah!) in her ā€œGod-givenā€ dominion over the local fauna to a sadistic, fetishistic degree. Or maybe she just flaunts her dominionist style to impress her red meat-hungry fans. With her grizzly bear throw rugs, airborne wolf-shooting games, plush fox (or is that wolf?) collars and fur fetish photo-ops surrounded by horny Vikings, Sarah Palin is the 21st Century Venus in Furs.

[Sarah Palin shares her fur fetish with horny Vikings photo]

Which brings out the difference in our approaches to power. There are two ways to get it (so they say): through fear and through love. I tend to go through love. Sarah Palin is all about fear. And boy oh boy, is she scary, especially to women and girls who have wished and worked all their lives to get a female in the White House, and now this anti-feminist Puritan threatening to set women and humanity back a few decades could well be the one who gets in. As for men, if they’re not down on their knees, they’re nervously protecting their balls.

The Alaskan Governor is the quintessential dominatrix, the Queen of Cold with a warm smile and a wicked style. This is a key to her appeal. Americans, who reelected (overlooking, for the moment, the possibility of voting machine fraud) the Bush Crime Family Torture Masters in 2004, apparently have a strong masochistic streak. An attractive, powerful, moralizing domme makes us weak in the knees. Americans are bowing down before this woman like lovestruck submissives, giving up their rights to peace, pleasure, freedom, a clean environment and any sense of respect from the world. Like Austrian novelist Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch’s 19th century classic Venus in Furs, Sarah Palin looks stunning in fur, wields a mean leather whip and has utter disdain for your pain. And this Venus also wields a cross as a sword.

Which brings up a difference that’s thicker than lipstick: I’m for the separation of Church and State, and the Governor is running as a Messenger from God. And that’s no vague conceptual God. That’s not the Jewish God, nor the Muslim, Buddhist nor Hindu God, and it’s certainly not the Goddess. Sarah Palin’s God is The Christian God with a capital crusading C, and she is His Messenger. And if you don’t accept Jesus as your Savior and the Republican party as your overlords, get out of the way of her snowmobilee. This is Sarah’s world and you’re just running from her bullets in it.

That’s another key disparity in our philosophies: I’m all about Peace through Pleasure. Sarah’s for Drilling and Killing. How can such a saintly woman be so brutal? Easy. See, candidates like me, who aren’t absolutely postive that God is on our side, or even that He or She exists, feel the need to be diplomatic, to work for the good of society, and the planet. People that speak with God directly, like Governor Sarah and Mad King Lameduck George, don’t sweat such small stuff, what with God Himself IM’ing them to rain bombs on civilians, plunge the economy into ruin and pillage the planet. Praise the Lord.

[Sarah Palin: Venus in Furs phot]

But back to us ladies. Here’s something else we have in common: Neither of us has been invited to Bohemian Grove (unlike McCain, Obama and all the male Bushes). I know a few of the BG’s secrets, but Sarah has a better chance of being the first female leader that these Greek love powerbrokers invite to their “top secret” Midsummer Night’s Bacchanals in the Redwoods. I’m sure they’re already fantasizing about Governor Sarah sporting a strap-on. Shhhh….

Which brings us to censorship: I’m against it (just in case you don’t know). Sarah Palin tries to ban books from libraries. And then there’s the war in Iraq (I’m against it). Sarah Palin calls it ā€œa task from God.ā€

But our most important difference isn’t really about us, it’s about our running mates. Sarah’s man is John McCain, the U.S. Senator who plucked our eskimo princess from national obscurity and set her on a snow white horse with reigns of flowers and a crown of stars in front of the old beat up, utterly discredited Republican army. Now she is his Joan of Arc. He is her Prince Charley, egotistical, fickle, quick to anger, utterly beholden to the wealthy powers that back him and prepared to keep our troops in Iraq for the duration of his presidency or the next 100 years, whichever comes first.

[Bendib Cartoon of Sarah Palin and John McCain phot]

My ā€œmanā€ is the U.S. Presidential Candidate Frank Moore. While Sarah’s man is a War Hero, who rained bombs on Vietnamese civilians before he was captured by Vietcong, Frank Moore is a Peace Hero who has brought joy and inspiration to millions over the years as a performing artist and healer. Frank promises to bring the troops home from Iraq ā€œimmediately,ā€ and he’ll have universal prenatal-to-the-grave health care and universal free education with equal access, and free public mass transit as well. Neither McCain nor Obama are offering these basic services that should be the first priority of any ā€œfreeā€ functional society. Read more about at frankmooreforpresident08.com/ and if you like what you read, write us in: Moore/Block. Feel good about your vote this time.

[Sarah Palin sits on her couch near her grizzly bear carcass phot]

But far be it from us to ā€œtakeā€ any votes from Obama who is, indeed, the far lesser of the two evils here. So you Barack voters, especially in the swing states, go ahead and vote the Big O. But if you’re one of those liberal Republicans who’s considering voting McCain/Palin because you like the idea of supporting the kind of feisty, sexy, can-do woman that Sarah Palin appears to represent, consider this: Everyone has their personal tastes. So… Sarah Palin has her grizzly bear carcass on a couch and I have my ecologically friendly Monkey Rocker. What would you rather have in your Vice Presidential living room? Wait, don’t answer that…

Just please don’t vote for her! Pray for her, pray to her, worship her, adore her, jerk off to pictures of her (real or fake), obsess over her family problems, adopt her sexy librarian look, copy her hair style, try out her Tina Fey glasses, send her fan mail, parody her, dedicate your next Christian rock tune to her, build a cathedral for her, but please just don’t vote for her. Because God and Goddess help us, if enough of you do.

Moore remains unrepentant, and offers a thoroughly un-Helmsian platform that includes slashing the military by half, providing free public mass transit 24/7/365, and legalizing drug use. THE EROTIC CAMPAIGN

9/17/2008

A performance can be built on a good title…like THE EROTIC CAMPAIGN…FEEL, TOUCH THE POSSIBILITIES. The title creates a bubble of expectations that set off reactions which build a reality. The excuse for this performance was the U.K. Eurotrash tv show SEXARAMA…the title tells it all…wanted to do a piece on the campaign. I grabbed onto this excuse to do a 3-hour inter-active ritual. For the last few years I have been only doing band gigs. I knew probably the t.v. people would boil the hours of magic down to 5 minutes of sleazy fluff. But I am willing to risk! The difference between a band gig and an inter-active ritual is the band gig has fairly defined frames. But in an inter-active ritual I don’t know what will happen from one minute to the next. I do enter the performance with pictures. But it always becomes quickly obvious those pictures ain’t what is going to happen….so dive in and float!

Everything clicked. Great band full of my long-time Cherotic vets…a great space…an audience ready to combine politics, erotics, music, and personal magic. I had to just not block it!

In Freedom,
Frank Moore

ERIKA:

We had our coffee and got ready to head out to the gig. The space was amazing, so cozy with great lighting a beautiful floor lots of pillows and all the band members we had not seen in a while came out of the woodwork, John the Baker, Lob, Steve from LA, Dr. O and Tomek!!! What fun. We got the space all set up and decorated in the Frank Moore for President decorations and Jen and I set up the swag table!!! It looked great!!! And the people were arriving, 25 in the end and they all stayed. The TV crew from England was there and getting set up, “So, its just Frank’s performance for the whole 3 hours?ā€ they wanted to know!!! The performance started and Frank went around and asked people how they heard about it and then Kene-J was there or the Archivist, hip hop rapper who has been on the Shaman’s Den and who owes Frank a pot roast one of these days. He sang a beautiful song and at the end of the performance said that he felt so inspired and would go home and write five songs. Then Frank and John did a few duets, amazing, powerful, a song about freedom, then crack baby and Fuck the Fascist USA. Frank had a couple of people read his two presidential speeches while Frank, Linda, Jen and Erika did a sexy, melting nude dance with slides going on top and everything in the room melted. The Frank Moore Cherotic All Star Band jamming in the back ground. It was a powerful and amazing night. The audience loved getting gotten by the three naked girls at the end and now they had someone to vote for in November!!!!! After the show we cleaned up and talked and said good bye to people who came to the performance and band members.

DA BOYZ:

When we got to the 8th St. Studios, most of the band was there hanging out in the lobby, Steve and Jen, Lob and his girlfriend, Dr. O, and Jen was there too … and the 8th St. Studio was filing out, tons of people … Everyone helped unload the cars, and then we realized that the previous group had gone and locked everything up! We waited for a bit, tried calling you guys, and then magically this older guy showed up and seemed to know that we needed to get in! He opened it up for us, and then you guys were there! And the performance set up began! What a beautiful space! First the ramboard went down, then the rugs, and quickly the space was transformed into a magical campaign stop, the Frank Moore for President campaign vinyls and banners interspersed with Mikee’s swirling erotic painted backdrops … really neat! The xmas lights …

The band set up and started playing … an amazing journey of music and sound that continued throughout the entire night, feeling like it rooted everything. It was really neat to see JTB again after what seemed like a long time! And Dr. O! It was like a homecoming … it felt really warm and close, really good. Jeremy from BNG and his girlfriend Bobby were there too …

It felt like everyone who came was ready to just go with whatever … open, willing to follow wherever this was going, which we didn’t know! It was fun Frank talking to Nick and David, the camera guys from British TV … we were saying today that there is a feeling that everyone who comes into the space is automatically together because we’re all going on the same journey together, following along … Frank having Kene-J come up and do a song was so great! It was neat that he came … everything about the night felt like what folks were saying later about what a country under a Frank Moore presidency would be like … like Lila, everyone together, everyone close, no competition, jealousy … everything was really heartwarming … John and Frank doing the ripping duet!! And then talking to all the band members, getting a sense of the long-term relationships that people have with Frank and us, a really deep sense of community, that it felt like everyone automatically was able to be part of by just being there. We really noticed later how a lot of people said, “Well, this is my first time …” and it felt like they could sense that what Frank was doing was a long-term thing, something to be experienced over the long-term, and that they had a sense of this being just one part of a much longer experience of community on some level … and that they could see themselves coming back again to continue the experience …

And then Frank had Jeremy undress Linda, Erika, Jen and Mikee slowly while a guy from the “audience” came up and read one of Frank’s campaign speeches, getting more and more inspired as he read it. It was beautiful and intense … the vision of Frank and the huddle of naked bodies with the words of Frank’s speech resonating through the room, with the music playing … a dream of a new world … and it only deepened as Lob’s girlfriend took over reading a longer speech of Frank’s, and the lights went out and the slides and strobes started while Frank, Linda, Erika and Jen played under the mind-altering combination of slides and bodies and music, and passionate vision for society!!! It is really hard to describe how it affects you taking all of that in … it comes in through so many openings at once, through the pores … you feel like you are not thinking really in the usual way anymore, just soaking it up … it was amazing to see how everyone else there was having the same experience of it, and so inspired and magically altered by it … transformed … grounded by the music that just kept swirling things deeper and deeper … so beautiful. The things that people said afterward were really amazing … the woman who said in all earnestness that she had been thinking of voting for Obama, but was going to vote for Frank now … Kene-J saying that he was so inspired that he was gonna go home and probably write 5 songs! Such a wide array of people, and everyone so open and willing … Alexi said later that Jeremy and Bobby left early because they had to pick a friend up from the airport. They had asked him if it would be ok with Frank if they left early, since they had that obligation … Alexi said it would be ok, but might be better after the undressing! Because Frank was just about to have Jeremy undress people …

The playing under the slides while Lob’s girlfriend read Frank’s speech was amazing visually… liquid, erotic, mind-melting … and then when Linda, Erika and Jen “got” everyone, it was so deep and so satisfying … you wanted that feeling to go on and on … and it really felt like it did, that it penetrated the talking afterward and the space itself, and that there was no dividing line … that everyone left the space carrying it with them out into the world. Very very deep and powerful ….

Then we dismantled the space, always amazing to see a space restored to its blank slate again after so much has happened in it … we were talking about the performance, packing up, snacking, farting!

JEN:

The space was great! Very big and beautiful with wood floors. Started getting carpets and blankets down. Then when you guys showed up Erika and I got the table of swag decorated and set up. The place was transformed pretty fast and looked beautiful with all the banners and posters and lights. Who knows what was going to happen! Was really exciting just to find out. It was a lot of fun to see John the Baker again, and Dr. O, Steve, Lob. Met Tomek for the first time and he was great. That band was classic and core. Really great.

Frank started out talking to everyone and I was just memorized like always. Love the way you work a crowd erasing division and expectation, like we’re all discovering what is happening together. Never boring! Archive came up and sang which was a great rap about shakin’ it and that loosened everyone up a bit. Then you played with John and that’s always a lot of fun too – crack baby and other hits with John throwing his guitar after felt like old times. Then you talked to the band and it felt like John was really deeply feeling how much we mean to him. Lob is funny with the mic and he’s so there with us, and you could tell that Dr. O felt great being back. Steve had been another great musical connection and really gets it too. Tomek was quiet but very present. Talking to the band like that really anchored what we did next.

You asked the couple up front if they would be undressers and the girl said no but the guy that works with Corey at bng said yes! With Josef reading the short version of Frank’s speech, he slowly undressed Linda, Erika, me and Mikee. Excitement was building as to what was coming. That was such the tip of an iceberg, I wish that couple had stayed to see all that happened next. The reading of the speech started out a little slow and fumbly but then became very impassioned by the end as it was really talking about us living our dreams in a real way and that is such a powerful thing – most people really deeply how much we need to do that.

Then the lights went down and we got up to do the ritual. We started right in with Lob’s girlfriend reading the long version of Frank’s speech that provided a great context for everything. Playing nude together is always so beautiful, feels so soft and relaxed. Moving together touching and rubbing – the whole body is alight and in tune – turned on. Felt really good. Then we went around the room and got everyone. We started with the band. Felt so good, felt like family. Then we spread out into the audience and brought them all in. The three of us just following each other went to every person and embraced them in us. Everyone accepted us and felt like they melted with us. We were in Lila and this was something you could feel every person wanted, wanted life to be like this with everyone. How great and amazing and wonderful. When the mic was passed around it was great to hear how everyone enjoyed it and how some of them let it change them right then. When Mikee got the mic I knew it would eventually come to me but I didn’t know what to say. I was just feeling so good and it was difficult to pick out anything specific at that time. When Erika got the mic she said that it felt great to go and hug everyone. I felt that too and it was great to hear her say that. Then Linda spoke and it was my turn next. I was just counting on the feeling that I had would produce words when I had to but that didn’t really happen because all that kept coming out was how great it was, how great it felt. Speechless, just smiling from ear to ear.

I have always been amazed at what you do, but now I’m here with you and it’s us, so it isn’t really amazing in a way because it’s life everyday. But in the context of us in a performance bringing others in who are willing to come, it still feels amazing because it is so easy to do. It’s so right here now and needed, craved. It felt as though everyone was waiting for us, beckoning us to get them. And when we got them it felt as though the energy of what we are was going out through their lives into other lives and out and out expanding into the world. So small and intimate, so practical and simple, but so powerful! The kind of power that can really change things.

Thanks for sending this! In politics, there is very little that is new, but I think you have provided something new!
