Last Saturday I gave your platform to a couple who were customers at the diner. They were reading it voraciously and said it was great. We talked a little bit about how politicians always come up with why the things you talk about can’t be done. Your platform opens that up and gives people the idea that these things are possible, then people start talking about how they can be done.

somebody asked: “would Frank require people to prove they had voted on the paid holiday election day in order to get the paid holiday? Was he looking for the slacker vote or the vote of responsible people?” He thought that if you just make election day a paid holiday, it wasn’t going to get anyone more to vote, it would just give the slackers a day off.

mmmm….i thought the election holiday was a no-brainer, removing needless roadblocks to people exercising their right to vote. i realize historically [to the present] politicians have always placed all kinds of hindrances to keep the WRONG people…blacks, women, workers, people of different parties, etc… from voting. but i ain’t playing those games.

but people also have the right to NOT vote. not voting can be a form of political expression. hey….if i wasn’t running, i probably wouldn’t be voting. so it would be wrong to force people to vote…to vote for “the lesser evil.”

but imagine seeing people as “slackers.” imagine that version of reality. in that version, nothing much could be done. i never have operated in that version! in reality, most people aren’t slackers. in reality we in this country have much less “off-time” than europeans. so even if the election holiday “just” gave people an extra day off, it will be a good thing!

It was fun to wear the campaign outfit and everyone just loved it, loved the hat, really like the hat. I handed out brochures throughout the morning and then at the Obama event so it felt like just being there all dressed up the campaign outfit was fun and powerful. I stayed for most of the event and they served cupcakes and ice cream and a woman brought her guitar and played music and the dvd didn’t work so one of the guys mostly talked about Obama and some of the issues but they really didn’t give that much information. The woman who has been emailing was pretty high strung and hard, and ironically probably a Lesbian ( a minority herself). I asked her at the end what she liked about Frank’s platform and she said oh, all of it it’s great! But then went off on how there are places for people with disabilities in political positions and basically being president ain’t one of them and then went off on something else. It just didn’t feel like there was much of an opening to really talk to her and for her to budge so I didn’t say much more. Should I respond to her email this morning? At one point Sidney went up to her and handed her a platform and said Frank’s a local candidate who would give election day off to everyone and she took the platform and it seemed like she would read it, but it felt really good to be handing out the platforms which are so clear and us of course cutting through all the heavy crap of politics such as Obama’s campaign event and to be sitting there all decked up in a Frank Moore for President campaign costume at an Obama event! Jerome took a platform and Lucy a stack to take to her co-workers at Long’s who heard about it from when she was at part of Frank’s speech. She thought Frank was going to be there today so I said maybe he could come back sometime.

i’ve been a disability activist for years- to think that anyone w/ that level of communication is as capable to lead a country as an able-bodied individual goes beyond “politically correct” -to -absurd to me.

it’s interesting that she is also a sexist. i am assuming she is labeling linda as my wife! she ain’t…nor erika…and mikee, alexi, corey aren’t my husbands. we don’t believe in MARRIAGE. but linda has been my lover for around 35 years….and more importantly linda and i have been working together for those years. if you think i’d let dimwits cripple me by denying that working relationship, don’t vote for me. and if you think i’m a puppet of anybody, don’t vote for me!

to set this up…the retirement community where erika [who we live with] offers free meeting/performing rooms to community groups, speakers, etc. to bring the community TO the residents. it’s a part of erika’s job as the director of enrichment to set these events up.

so a woman from obama called to set up an obama event. at some point she asked erika if the other candidates had had events there. erika said “the independent candidate frank moore spoke”…and erika gave her my web site.

so today, erika said: “the woman who is setting up the Obama thing tomorrow wrote back and said that she has started checking out Frank’s site and she said are you really taking this guy seriously. This guy’s….”

can you guess what the woman said?
